For those of you who did not know... Jamal was a 1st degree black belt in martial arts and he has traveled all around the country competing with other great martial artists.. Jamal was one of the greatest of his kind and many people admired. He had such a big heart and passion for karate. He trained with and touched the lives of many of our fellow martial artist in Houston and surrounding areas. He was a great friend, student, and instructor.
We dedicate this award in his honor because he is a true example of what a martial artist should be. We search all year to find a junior and adult who has given themselves to the arts and to others as Jamal did. For the past years that's just what the recipients of this award has done. Thank you to everyone who has made our event a success and special thanks to the Hasan family.
